Summer 2016 TBR

Hey guys!

With summer now in full swing, there are a few books I would like to get to before it ends.

They’re all books I have been dying to read and now I hopefully can, since I’ve gotten some of my free time back.

So let me get on with it and share them with you. 😊

1. The Way of Kings

The Way of Kings is a book that’s been calling to me recently, which is great since I’ve needed more Sanderson in my life. It’s been sitting on my shelves for over 3 years now and it’s about time I moved it off my to-read shelf. The two books currently out in this series get nothing but love, so I can’t wait to finally read it.

2. The Girl in the Spider’s Web

I am a huge fan of the original Millennium trilogy and when I discovered that there would be a fourth book, I knew I had to read it. And even though this isn’t technically written by Steig Larason, it has gotten a lot of praise. So I’m cautiously optimistic and I hope it doesn’t disappoint.

3. Ship of Magic

This was the book that set off this list. I knew that once I’d finished my last exam, I would be starting the Ship of Magic as soon as. And that I did. I’m almost done with it and I’ve fallen head over heels for this story and its characters. I’d highly recommend checking out Robin Hobb’s work, if you haven’t already. She’s fast becoming one of my favourite fantasy authors.

4. Lair of Dreams

Back in April, I listened to The Diviners audiobook and its become one my of favourite books of the year so far. I’m currently also listening to Lair of Dreams and I’m more than halfway done with it. I’m loving it even more and I can’t believe I’m gonna have to wait so long for the next book.

5. All the Light We Cannot See

I added All the Light We Cannot See into mix so that whenever I needed a change in pace or wanted something really emotional, it’d be my go-to pick. Admittedly, I don’t know much about it but that’s how I want to be I when go into it. Everybody raves about it, so I’m excited to see what I think.

6. An Ember in the Ashes

This is one hyped book that I’m equally nervous and pumped to start. It’s another book, I have no clue what it’s about, except that its set in a Rome-like setting which has me intrigued. I’m really hoping to liking it, so we’ll see how that goes.

7. Carry On

Because of various reasons, I’ve put off reading Carry On. But now its reached the point were I just needed to read it already. And so now hopefully I will. It’ll be interesting to see how Rainbow Rowell first foray into fantasy pans out. And as I adore her other work, I have faith it’s gonna be good.

8. The Rose and the Dagger

Around this time last year, I read The Wrath and the Dawn. And ever since then I’ve been impatiently waiting on the sequel. So I now that it’s out, I beyond excited to see how this duology will end. It’s probably gonna be one of the next books I’ll read.

So those are all the books that I’m hoping to have read by the end of summer.

Do you have a Summer Reading list too? If you do, leave me a comment telling me your top 3. I’d love to know. 😄

As always, thanks for reading.

    1. That’s great to hear, it makes me more excited to start it. I hope I’ll love it as much as you do. Definitely check out Robin Hobb’s books, they’ve all been amazing so far.

  1. Carry On is a popular one with everybody. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts about it and also The Way of Kings. I need to get my s**t together and start doing some serious reading on some of the more chunky books 😀

    1. Carry On is one of those books I’m scared but excited to read. And now I just need to read it to see whether it’s my cup of tea or not. 😆

I don’t think I’ll get to read The Way of Kings this summer because apparently you need to read Warbreaker first. I do wanna get to it before the end of the year, so hopefully that happens.

      1. What?!! haha I did not know that. Well, I think I’ll read Elantris and Warbreaker before diving into The Way of Kings. 🙂 That should be fun, people say good things about these books. And it is Sanderson!
I’ve been “binge” watching authors panels at ComicCon and omg! that wasn’t the greatest idea, now there are so many authors I want to try their books. haha don’t know why I do this to myself >.<
