Top 5 Wednesday: Books You Want to Finally Read in 2017

This week’s Top 5 Wednesday prompt is the five books that you wanted to read in 2016 but didn’t get a chance to, and that you’ll make it your mission to read in 2017.

If you didn’t already know, Top 5 Wednesday was created by Lainey over at GingerReadsLainey and is now run by Sam over at Thoughts of Tomes. And if you haven’t checked out either of their channels already, then I highly suggest you do.

So without further ado, here are all the books.

5. All the Light We Cannot See

I love historical fiction, its one of my top three genres and its one I’ve woefully ignored.

All I know about All the Light We Cannot See is that its set in WW2 following 2 children whose lives interconnect somehow. Even though this is right at the top of my TBR, I’ve been putting it off because I’m not ready for all the feels, that I’m sure will follow.

4. A Little Life

Back in 2015, A Little Life was huge. It was everywhere; you couldn’t escape it. And when I heard from all that buzz, it is one of the most depressing book ever, you could say I was a little intrigued. I don’t know much about it, other than it follows four college-graduate friends, as they move to New York. People say its best to go into it blind, so that’s what I’m doing.

So all being well, I’ll absolutely be picking this up next year.

3. The Magician’s King

After loving The Magicians, I wanted to start book 2 as soon as. But since its one of those books that needs your full attention, I could never quite find the time to dedicate to it.

I’m dying to know what happens next to Quentin + friends, as well as seeing if it’s possible for this series to get any weirder.

2. Rise of Empire

Ever since I read Theft of Swords, I’ve been meaning to read Rise of Empire. But because I’m almost certain I’m going to love it, why rush it.

I’ll definitely be reading it in the first half of 2017 though, as I don’t think I can hold out any longer.

1. Warbreaker

I didn’t read any Sanderson books this year which is a huge shame. I’m desperate to read more of his works, so hopefully the next one I read will be Warbreaker.

I’ve heard nothing but positive things about it, so I can’t wait to dive into it.

There you have it. The five books that I’ll definitely be reading in 2017 (fingers crossed).

As always, thanks for reading.

      1. I’ve only read the Mistborn Trilogy by him and it was seriously amazing. So if its anything as good as that, we’re in for a treat. 😆
